About the Study

Major Depressive Disorder in adults can be incredibly challenging to manage, as it often manifests in persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. Finding effective treatments can prove difficult, as individuals may respond differently to various therapies and medications.

The purpose of this study is to test an investigational medication and see if it can help regulate mood in people who are struggling with this Major Depressive Disorder. The active ingredient in ALTO-300, the investigational medication, is already approved in Europe and Australia, but it is not approved by the U.S. FDA. Since all antidepressants work differently in people, it is important to test new medications to gain a better understanding of which patients may respond to certain treatments.
