Tophaceous Gout

Suburban Research Associates is enrolling adults with Tophaceous Gout for a research study testing a new medication compared to allopurinol, a commonly used gout treatment.

Age Range: 18
Gender: Male and Female
Location: West Chester, Pennsylvania

Qualifications

You may qualify if you:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of gout
  • Have at least one measurable tophus (uric acid lump under the skin)
  • Have been taking a stable dose of allopurinol for at least 3 months
  • Have uric acid levels ≥ 5.0 mg/dL at both screening visits
  • Are able to take gout flare prevention medication (like colchicine or NSAIDs) during the study’s first 24 weeks
  • Are willing to avoid other gout medications during the study and keep follow-up appointments
