International Angelman Day: Angelman Syndrome and New Hope for Treatment

Angelman Syndrome is a rare neuro-genetic condition, specifically in children that can cause developmental delays and challenges and/or affect nerve functioning. Because of the rare nature of the condition, until recently there haven’t been many treatment options available. However, with advancements in the fields of medicine and psychiatry, more research is being done in attempt to provide hope to children and their families affected by the condition and according to The Angelman Syndrome Foundation, there is hope for a cure (https://www.angelman.org/what-is-as/).

In observance of International Angelman Day on February 15th, check out Ovid Therapeutics’s video of real families sharing their stories of living with Angelman Syndrome here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKxfJKjq6Ek along with their other videos on their Youtube Channel about Angelman Syndrome as well as The Angelman Syndrome Foundation website found above.
